Prestwick Farm is a 300 acre working sheep farm, set in the picturesque `Surrey Hills` between Chiddingfold village and Haslemere, just 10 miles south of Guildford. The ethos of the business has always been to market quality products and services directly to the public in order to react quickly to customer needs. The core business is the production of 1500 lambs per year from a 900 ewe flock. These are home bred suffolk X Mules crossed with Texel rams to provide a high quality lamb carcase suitable for a local upmarket supermarket chain. |

The high quality grass required for the flock lends itself to forage production in early summer when grass growth outstrips the demands of the flock. In partnership with a neighbouring farm over 1000 tonnes of haylage is baled and wrapped using state of the art equipement. Unlike many competitors the entire enterprise is managed to provide a consistent quality product with the choice of meadow or rye grass depending on requirements. As both these enterprises are weather dependant the company has diversified into self catering accommodation in a converted barn, Free Range Turkeys and Livestock Haulage as insurance against a difficult farming year. |
